Resumen
Cardiovascular disease is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. It is critical to modify cardiovascular
risk factors after ischemic heart disease and therapeutic surgery. Objectives: To determine the number of subjects who changed the cardiovascular risk factors after undergoing cardiac surgery and describe the main causes that facilitate and hinder the exchange of cardiovascular risk factors. Methods: mixed study, retrospective, open method. Participants were 90 ranging 40 to 80 years of age and diagnosed with ischemic heart disease that underwent cardiac surgery therapy. Results: there is statistically significant difference between the cardiovascular risk scores of pre and post-surgery. Cardiovascular risk score decreased 4% six (6) months after having undergone surgery. Diet change observed in 60% and 35% did exercise more. These two are the main factors associated with the change. Conclusions: We found that patients decrease the cardiovascular risk score after having undergone cardiac surgery.
