Resumen
Introduction: This is the case of a 26-year-old male patient with a two-year history of tonic-clonic seizures. Upon investigation, a type 2 mesial temporal glioma was identified as the cause of the clinical manifestation. Objective: A treatment plan was formulated based on the location of the glioma and existing literature. This involved a large resection via a pterional craniotomy, followed by a transtemporal approach through the Sylvian fissure. Results: Due to the presence of critical eloquent structures such as the hippocampus and amygdala, as well as important vascular structures like the middle cerebral artery and its branches, neuronavigation was used to guide the approach. Conclusion: The expected outcome of the treatment plan was a complete extensive resection, followed by a reduction in seizure frequency without postoperative neurological deficits.
