Resumen
Tumor lysis syndrome (TLS) is a potentially life-threatening condition typically associated with the initiation of cancer treatment, leading to the rapid release of intracellular contents into the bloodstream. While most seen in hematologic malignancies, TLS can occur in solid tumors under certain conditions. In this case, a TLS was discovered in an 83-year-old female patient following a hemithyroidectomy. This case underscores the potential for TLS to occur in patients with solid tumors, particularly following surgical intervention. The clinical presentation can be severe and rapidly progressive, requiring early recognition and aggressive treatment.
