Resumen
Anatomy is one of medicine’s most critical sciences, since it has a key importance in the clinical training of a doctor. Over time the learning methods have varied and thanks to the technological advances, virtual reality guided anatomy has emerged as a newer and interactive learning method for medical students. The objective of the present study was to identify which anatomy learning method is preferred by third-year students of Francisco Marroquín University School of Medicine, for which cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out, in 36 students in the period of September 2022. The results showed that immersion with the use of virtual reality guided anatomy increases the overall interest in the course, facilitates and improves the understanding of educational content and produces a greater participation in class. In conclusion, students showed a greater preference for the virtual reality guided anatomy learning method in contrast to traditional teaching methods (books, 2D images, etc.).
